Choice Time

In Kindergarten we have at least one hour of uninterrupted play time each day. The children learn so much about their world through play. They learn how to negotiate, problem solve, be kind, control emotions and calm their bodies. They manipulate objects, act out roles and experiment with different materials. Through play, children actively construct, challenge and expand their own understandings. They investigate, ask questions, and engage in critical thinking. Play is children's work!

"Play expands intelligence, stimulates the imagination, encourages creative problem solving, and helps develop confidence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude toward learning." Dr. Fraser Mustard

Here are some pictures of our class hard at work!
